Learn to Swim and Water Safety
The 2021 program is now completed. The program will next run in January 2022 at the Deloraine Pool.
This is a free program for children, generously supported in 2021 by Bendigo Bank and Meander Valley Council.
The Rotary Club of Deloraine has been running this program for over 30 years as a free community service for the children of the Deloraine and district areas. It is aimed at providing those children who cannot swim with the ability to save themselves and/or others.
Children will be graded according to ability, not family group. It is hoped that children will be encouraged to work towards a swimming goal and so improve from year to year.
Children under the age of 5 cannot be enrolled.
It is advisable for parents/guardians to purchase rash vests. Boys need to wear a proper bathing costume, not shorts to the knee.
Swimming program days run from 10:00am to 3:45pm with each participant having one 30 minute lesson at the same time each day. Qualified instructors are employed to run these classes.
