The program will next run from 5th to 16th January 2026 at the Deloraine Council Pool.

All children must be registered at the enrollment day: Thursday 1st January, 10am to 2pm.

Description of the program

​

Qualified instructors are employed to run these classes. Each participant has one 30 minute lesson at the same time each day. Class times are between 10am to 12pm and 12:30 to 2:30pm.   

 

Children are graded according to ability, not family group. It is hoped that children will be encouraged to work towards a swimming goal and so improve from year to year.

​

Children under the age of 5 cannot be enrolled.

​

It is advisable for parents/guardians to purchase rash vests. Boys need to wear a proper bathing costume, not shorts to the knee.

​

The Rotary Club of Deloraine has been running this program for over 30 years as a free community service for the children of the Deloraine and district areas. It is aimed at providing those children who cannot swim with the ability to save themselves and/or others.
