In 1998, the Trustees of the Estates of Beverley Mary Pratt and Mary Catherine Pratt initiated discussion with the Rotary Club of Deloraine to join the Trustees in the establishment of a meaningful facility which would be of on-going benefit to the elderly within our community.
In November 1998 Governor Sir Guy Green launched the Foundation and commended its establishment and noted its objective as being – “The foundation is established and shall be maintained exclusively for the purpose of providing funds to be used for the benefit of the elderly people within the Deloraine area.”
The Rotary-Pratt Foundation of Deloraine has provided significant contributions to:
Deloraine District Hospital
- Deloraine Community Care Centre
The three arms of Aged Care Deloraine (now called Meander Valley Life): Grenoch Home for the Aged, Kanangra and St Mark’s
Deloraine Senior Citizens Club
Deloraine Bowls Club
Deloraine Probus Club
Meander Valley Community Radio
In 2018 the Foundation donated $52,000 towards the construction of a new Independent Living Unit at the Kanagra Hostel, Deloraine.
The Foundation seeks community support to build capital within its Fund so that continual improvements can be made for the benefit of the elderly citizens in the Deloraine area.
All contributions, no matter how small, will be constructive in achieving the aim of the Foundation.
This can be done either through a direct contribution, or by following the fine example of Beverley and Mary Pratt and remembering the Rotary-Pratt Foundation in your Will. For more information contact the Club Secretary (Roy Axelsen): firstname.lastname@example.org
