In May 2017 the Club funded the purchase of an new adjustable bed, with value $4652, by the Deloraine Hospital. The bed will provide greater safety for patients who are at particular risk of falls.

 

In May 2017 the Club funded a defribillator for the township of Mole Creek. Training on the use of the defribillator will also be provided.

 

A vocational visit and dinner at the Ghost Rock winery near Port Sorrell was attended by Rotary members in March 2017.

 

The 60th birthday celebrations of the Deloraine Rotary Club were held at the Rotary Pavilion on March 4, 2017. Highlights of the evening included cutting of the cake by charter member John Loone, and the awarding of a Paul Harris Fellowship to Past President John Dare.

 

The proceeds of the 2016 Craft Fair were used to make a donation of $15,000 to Giant Steps, a  school and therapeutic centre for children and adults on the Autism Spectrum located in Deloraine. Giant Steps will use the money to purchase equipment for a new sensory gym.

A $3000 Tertiary Scholarship was awarded in March 2017 to Josie Robertson, who lives at Caveside and attended Scotch Oakburn College. Josie is commencing a Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Tasmania (Launceston Campus) in 2017.

 

Rotary Deloraine donated $200 towards prizes at the inaugral Tasmania Junior Beef Handlers Expo, held at the Deloraine Showgrounds in February 2017.

 

Two Shelter Boxes funded by Rotary Deloraine have been deployed in Pakistan, in the aftermath of the 2016 flooding and landslides. Shelter Boxes contain a tent, cooking facilities, lighting and other equipment for temporary shelter.

 

In December 2016 members of Rotary Deloraine delivered Christmas hampers to families in the Liena valley, and one resident of Mole Creek, who were affected by the floods of June 2016. Funding for the hampers was obtained from the Rotary Australila Benevolent Society Tasmanian Flood Appeal.
